Fandango May Have Revealed That ‘Avengers: Endgame’ is Over 3 Hours

Avengers: Infinity War
Much interest has surrounded the question of the running time that the highly-anticipated Avengers: Endgame is going to have. Fandango may have provided a ballpark for just how long the movie will end up being, but it should be noted that this is not necessarily an official number.

Directors Joe and Anthony Russo previously noted that they were very satisfied with how rough cuts of the film, which were said to be around 3 hours in length, were received. A little over a month later, one insider indicated that as far as he could tell, the final cut was sticking with a 3 hour runtime, give or take a few minutes. And now it seems like a cut that’s just around 3 hours in length, if not a little longer, could very well be on the cards.

Fandango has recently shared some information about just how long the culmination of the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe up until this point is going to be, and it’s a doozy. According to them, the fourth Avengers movie is going to have one of the longest running times for a Summer blockbuster ever at 3 hours and 2 minutes:

While this message was originally set for their site, they quickly shared it to their social media accounts:

With the final edit locked and the score on the film complete, it can be expected that Disney may be revealing the running time to specific movie-related outlets. However, it must be noted that this is still not the official running time; that won’t come until the MPAA have rated the movie and released the official number with it. That final number will likely change by anywhere between one minute and ten, but either way, we can infer that the last film in a 22-movie series will not be short. Fandango has subsequently removed some of the information that they published, so be wary.

As hard as it is to believe, we now only have a month and some change to wait for the conclusion of the so-called “Infinity Saga” of the MCU. With Disney’s acquisition of Fox, a lot more viable Marvel IP is set to join the ever-expanding universe. Big things are in store for the future, and how ironic it must be that Endgame is merely the beginning.

The film’s official synopsis is as follows:

The grave course of events set in motion by Thanos that wiped out half the universe and fractured the Avengers ranks compels the remaining Avengers to take one final stand in Marvel Studios’ grand conclusion to twenty-two films, Avengers: Endgame.

Avengers: Endgame hits theaters on April 26, 2019.
