Terminally-Ill Fan Will Get to See ‘Avengers: Endgame’ Early
Recently, we shared a story about an Avengers fan who was dying of two forms of cancer and bone marrow failure who wanted to see Endgame before he died, and how fans reached out to get Marvel’s attention. Here’s some great news: it worked!
The #Avengers4Alexander campaign effectively began overnight a few days ago, and nearly as quickly as it began, it has produced results. Alexander has revealed via Twitter that he’s now been able to directly contact Disney after they reached out to him. He also encouraged fans to reach out to donate money toward research for treatment and potential cures for the medical condition that he and others are affected with:
@ManaByte
Disney have reached out and we're discussing options. Thank you all so much. This is everything I could have hoped for!Please consider donating to Fanconi Anemia research: https://t.co/ErEBXW3Nxd

This is another sad story that has a happy ending; earlier this year, a girl named Keira with brain cancer made her dying wish to see Avengers: Endgame clear, and fans were able to help let Disney know about her condition and dying wish. She was able to see the movie sometime after the campaign started.
While this is certainly a bittersweet situation due to the awful genetic condition he’s been afflicted with, the good news is that Alexander will be able to enjoy Avengers: Endgame and see how this story ends. We hope that he enjoys the film, and wish him the best in whatever time he has left, and we thank Marvel Studios for their compassion.
Avengers: Endgame hits theaters on April 26, 2019.
