‘Knives Out’ Movie May Also Star Michael Shannon
As buzz for Rian Johnson’s Knives Out builds, so does its cast. A new report suggests that Michael Shannon will be filling another role in the Agatha Christie-inspired mystery-thriller.
Variety is reporting that Shannon has entered talks to join the mystery film, although he hasn’t officially signed on just yet. Should he join the cast, Shannon will star alongside James Bond actor Daniel Craig, Captain America actor Chris Evans, and Atlanta‘s Lakeith Stanfield. The film is set to begin filming in November, so several other casting announcements ought to arrive before then.
Johnson has already written the script to Knives Out, which he will also direct. The project represents something of a creative break for Johnson after completing work on Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and is something he’d wanted to work on for quite some time. Johnson will later return to the Galaxy Far, Far Away with a new standalone film that could potentially serve as the starting point for a trilogy of films, as both Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy and Disney CEO Bob Iger are confident in his vision for future Star Wars movies.
Knives Out is in development, and it does not yet have a release date.
