There’s No Heroes in the New ‘Venom’ Trailer

Venom
The new Venom trailer premiered this week with the bold proclamation that the world has enough superheroes.

With the MCU celebrating its 10th anniversary with an Infinity War sized victory lap, and DC Films seeming rejuvenated after SDCC (fingers crossed!), it may have a point. So Sony’s taking a different approach.

Sony’s Spider-Man Universe (currently minus a Spider-Man) is set to launch later this year with one of the wall crawler’s most famous villains turned antiheros; Venom.

The trailer, which features footage that was originally revealed at SDCC, gives us our best look yet at Tom Hardy’s Venom, and our first ever look at the film’s antagonist; Riot.

It shows Eddie Brock’s struggle with the demon living insider him, even as he concludes “that power, it’s not completely awful.”

One thing’s for sure. Brock and the symbiote will need to work together if they’re to defeat Riot when Venom hits theaters October 5th 2018.
