‘Stranger Things 3’ Arrives on Netflix on July 4, New Trailer Revealed
Fans of Stranger Things will be happy to hear that they’ll return to Hawkins sooner than expected, as the third season of the hit Netflix series is set to arrive in the Summer this time around.
Netflix officially revealed the airdate as a surprisie New Year’s announcement playing off of an old Dick Clark-hosted New Year’s Rockin’ Eve presentation on ABC. The footage shown hints that computers and hacking will play a role in this next chapter of the series:
In addition, Netflix unveiled the first poster for Stranger Things 3, which gives fans a glimpse at what the season’s new monster is going to look like (check the tweet for the full image):

As of right now, we know only a few details on the plot of Stranger Things 3, the first of which is the fact that it’s set in Summer 1985. The second is that we’ll be spending some time out of Hawkins, with the previously-teased Starcourt Mall apparently serving as a new hub for the story after the interdimensional gate beneath the Hawkins National Laboratory was sealed by Jane “Eleven” Ives at the end of the second season (before the lab was shut down for good, to boot). Thirdly and finally, we also know the names of the eight episodes in this season, although they don’t tell us a whole lot. As more details become apparent, we’ll be sure to cover them at Movie News Net.
Stranger Things 3 will debut on July 4, 2019. Stranger Things 1 and Stranger Things 2 can currently be viewed on Netflix.
