The buzz is really strong on this one, and the hard-to-satisfy Ridley Scott, who is a producer via Scott Free, has apparently given it his blessing. Here is the official synopsis:

The sci-fi/horror-thriller takes the phenomenally successful ‘Alien’ franchise back to its roots: While scavenging the deep ends of a derelict space station, a group of young space colonizers come face to face with the most terrifying life form in the universe.

The first poster was also revealed today:

Alien: Romulus is the latest effort by Disney to revitalize the IP they acquired from 20th Century Fox in 2019. In 2022 they debuted new Avatar and Predator movies, and this year they have new Planet of the Apes and Alien projects. Also today the first two episodes of X-Men ’97, which used to be under Fox’s umbrella, dropped on Disney Plus. Noah Hawley is working on a separate Alien series for FX.

Alien: Romulus comes out in theaters on August 16.
