Supergirl Casting Underway: Milly Alcock, Emilia Jones, Meg Donnelly Up for Screen Tests Soon

Pre-production on DC Studios’ Superman: Legacy continues, and James Gunn is getting ready to cast one of the big roles. It’s unknown how big of a presence she will have in the new film, but Supergirl will certainly be a main character of the first wave of projects from the forthcoming DC Universe.

According to Deadline, screen tests could be underway over the next month, with House of the Dragon star Milly Alcock, CODA‘s Emilia Jones, and Disney Channel’s Zombies‘ Meg Donnelly (who has already voiced Supergirl on several animated DC projects), are up for the role. They are saying a straight offer could be made too.

The trade didn’t draw a direct connection between the casting and Gunn’s Superman: Legacy, though there have been rumors out there for a few weeks that the character will be appearing in the 2025 film. It’s also to soon to be casting for a film that’s so far removed in time from now. Think that, unlike The Brave and the Bold, for instance, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow just landed its writer a couple of months ago and is in search of a director.

Filming will start on Superman: Legacy during the spring. David Corenswet stars as Clark Kent/Superman, and Rachel Brosnahan is set to play Lois Lane.
