‘The Boys’ Spin-off ‘Gen V’ Shows off Shenanigans in First Teaser

The Boys spin-off Gen V

The first look at the new series Gen V, the long-anticipated The Boys spin-off, arrived over the weekend, letting audiences know the tone and feel of the original show will still be very much present.

You can check out the new trailer here:

Here is the official synopsis for the series:

“Set at America’s only college exclusively for young adult superheroes (run by Vought International), Gen V explores the lives of hormonal, competitive Supes as they put their physical, sexual, and moral boundaries to the test, competing for the school’s top ranking.”

The main goal of the teaser is to be an announcement that more (deranged) stories are coming from this universe, where superheroes are let go of any strings attaching them to the real world. If The Boys serves as a social critique, Gen V could potentially serve as a critique of the younger generations, given its college setting.

As seen in the trailer, the series will also feature guest appearances from Jessie T. Usher (A-Train), Colby Minifie (Ashley), and P. J. Byrne (Adam Bourke). The main cast includes Jaz Sinclair, Chance Perdomo, Lizze Broadway, Shelley Conn, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Sean Patrick Thomas, Marco Pigossi, Clancy Brown, Alexander Calvert, and Jason Ritter.

No specific release date has been set, but the series is expected to arrive at some point in 2023. The fourth season of The Boys is currently in production and could arrive on Prime Video by the end of 2023 or early 2024. It was recently announced that Simon Pegg will be returning as Hughie’s dad, and Rosemarie DeWitt (La La Land) will be joining the party as Hughie’s mom. Elliot Knight and Rob Benedict have also been cast in undisclosed roles. Most of the season 3 cast is expected to return, including Jensen Ackles as Soldier Boy and Cameron Crovetti as Homelander’s son, who has now been promoted to series regular. Jeffrey Dean Morgan joined the cast in late August as well.
