Did you enjoy Charlie Cox’s return as Daredevil in the most recent episode of She-Hulk? Lucky you! Disney Plus is going all in on Cox’s take on the character, and new reports suggest that his own series will be going back to New York City in February.

According to Discussing Film‘s Jacob Fisher, Marvel Studios will not be filming Daredevil: Born Again in Atlanta, but instead will go back to New York, where all three seasons of the Netflix series in which Cox was first introduced as Matt Murdock were filmed. Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige announced during this year’s Comic-Con that Born Again will be 18 episodes long, and will bring back Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk too. With that episode count, filming will require a lot of time — Fisher also said that it will take up most of 2023.

Cover Affairs co-creators Matt Corman and Chris Ord are attached to write and executive produce. It’s unknown at this point who else, besides Cox and D’Onofrio, will be carried over from the Netflix series, though rumors point to at least Deborah Ann Woll, who played Karen Page, and Elden Henson, who played Foggy, having been in conversations with Marvel Studios. Most recently, Woll shared her hopes to return in an interview with Collider:

“So, I mean, it means so much to me. I love that character so much, and I do miss it. I really felt like we were unfinished. We had so much more story to tell. So yeah, it’s really gratifying to see how much people love her and want to see more from her. I hope I get to. I’m here. They know my number.”

Interestingly, Eiza González, who has long been fancast as Elektra, recently posted on social media that she will not be playing the character in the upcoming series. Both Cox and D’Onofrio will also be back in the upcoming Disney Plus series Echo, starring Alaqua Cox as Maya López, a character she already played in last year’s Hawkeye series.
