‘Black Adam’ New Images Released, Pierce Brosnan Talks Doctor Fate

Black Adam

As part of the new issue of Total Film Magazine, which features Black Adam on the cover, the publication had the chance to speak to the cast and crew of the movie, including Pierce Brosnan himself. They are also releasing a new set of images from the movie.

Brosnan is playing Doctor Fate, one of the four members of the Justice Society of America in the movie, a group of heroes that band together to put an end to Black Adam’s reckless destruction. About Fate, the former James Bond actor said the following:

“I am the elder of the group. “I’m assured he’s one of the oldest characters in the pantheon of comic-book characters. He’s an archaeologist.

He has powers to foresee the future, and raise the dead, and teleport, while wearing a gold helmet,”

And that helmet is key to harnessing his power, as Brosnan went on to explain. It was also a big piece of collaboration between Brosnan and the director of the movie, Jaume Collet-Serra:

“Absolutely, yes. It’s a blessing and a curse. It’s almost like a drug addiction in some respects. It takes a lot of energy to wear the helmet. It was a very beautifully designed outfit and helmet, which I’m quite fond of. Jaume Collet-Serra is very inclusive in the collaboration. He was wonderful in the sense that he would send me designs of the helmet, so I could participate in the look of it.”

Total Film also had the chance to talk to Aldis Hodge, who plays Hawkman in the movie. Hodge gave the following explanation about his character:

“This brother has been around for a while. He has the power – or rather the curse – of reincarnation. So he’s actually been around for thousands of years, even during the time of Teth-Adam, when he was originally in his previous form.”

The other two members of the JSA are Atom Smasher, played by Noah Centineo, and Cyclone, played by Quintessa Swindell. New coverage from Black Adam by the magazine will probably be coming out in the next few days, so stay tuned for more.

Black Adam is scheduled for an October 21 release. At Comic-Con, Collet-Serra confirmed that the movie is now completely done, so it’s all in the hands of the marketing department at Warner Bros.
