Samuel L. Jackson Confirms Nick Fury Is in ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’
Samuel L. Jackson has just teased more MCU appearances going forward.
In a recent episode of the Happy Sad Confused podcast (around the 1:04:00 mark), Jackson confirmed that Nick Fury will be making an appearance in the third Ant-Man movie, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. When the topic of Jackson having played the character for fourteen years now came up, the actor was a bit shocked to hear the number, and then he added:
“But you know, it’s kind of strange when someone hands you a nine-picture deal. You go, how the hell am I gonna stay alive to make nine pictures? Cause it used to take a while to make a movie, and it still kind of does, but you know, people are making two or three of them at a time. And the Marvel Universe… it’s crazy. Cause when I was in London just now that was like ‘Ant-Man’, and ‘Captain Marvel 2’, and we were getting ready to do ‘Secret Invasion’. So it was like three Marvel movies on one lot. I was kind of running around from place to place…
The actor already confirmed he was in The Marvels back in August of last year, but this is the first time we’ve heard about Ant-Man 3. That movie will also feature a guest appearance by Bill Murray, as the actor confirmed last year while promoting The French Dispatch.
In addition to this, Samuel L. Jackson dropped another pearl: when the conversation shifted towards Secret Invasion, podcast host Josh Horowitz started listing the cast, which includes Olivia Colman, Emilia Clarke, and Ben Mendelsohn, among others — to that list, Jackson also added Martin Freeman’s and Don Cheadle’s names, which had not been announced until now. Cheadle popped up in a quick cameo in the first episode of The Falcon and the Winter Solder. He is expected to play the role of Rhodey again in his own show, Armor Wars, which hired its lead writer last summer and could go into production later this year.
The next Marvel project coming our way is Moon Knight, which will debut on Disney Plus on March 30th. After that, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will roll into theaters on May 6th. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will debut in theaters summer 2023, a few months after The Marvels and probably Secret Invasion as well. This means that we are gonna have a 2023 full of Nick Fury goodness.
