‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’ Teaser Trailer Offers a Brand-New Look at Middle-earth
After the insanity of the Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness trailer and the Moon Knight TV spot that dropped during the Super Bowl, Amazon Studios came out with the big guns, offering us a first look at their upcoming The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power series.
Amazon hosted a live-event in collaboration with TheOneRing.net in which they reacted live to the new footage. Without further ado, check it out below:
The show debuted a first look earlier this week, with a very extensive piece by Vanity Fair, where the first official pictures from the series were shown. The piece confirmed the identity of several of the character posters that had dropped the week before, including Morfydd Clark’s Galadriel, Robert Aramayo’s Elrond, Ismael Cruz Córdova’s Arondir (who is an original character created for the show), Nazanin Boniadi’s Bronwyn, Sophia Nomvete’s dwarven princess Disa, Owain Arthur’s Durin, Charles Edwards’s Celebrimbor, and of course, Maxim Huerta’s Isildur.
No mention was made of the Númenorians in that piece, which did mention the appearance of harfoots, the Second Age’s version of hobbits. Two of them will be played by Megan Richards and Markella Kavenagh, whose characters come across a mysterious man who promises to be one of the big questions of season 1. Fan site Fellowship of Fans got an exclusive last week in which they confirmed there is a character codenamed “Meteor Man” who might very well be him — his character poster is the one where he’s holding an apple.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power will debut on Prime Video September 2, 2022.
Miguel Fernández is a Spanish student that has movies as his second passion in life. His favorite movie of all time is The Lord of the Rings, but he is also a huge Star Wars fan. However, fantasy movies are not his only cup of tea, as authors like Scorsese, Fincher, Kubrick or Hitchcock have been an obsession for him since he started to understand the language of filmmaking. He is that guy who will watch a black and white movie, just because it is in black and white.
