‘Zack Snyder’s Justice League’ Gets Three New Posters And A Release Date

Justice League
Zack Snyder has officially revealed that his version of Justice League will arrive on March 18, 2021 with three new posters.

After the recent release date shuffle for Godzilla vs Kong to March, some were left wondering if Zack Snyder’s Justice League would move later into the year, perhaps to coincide with the international expansion of HBO Max. Not so, it seems – Snyder is getting to keep his intended release date in the middle of the month, close to the anniversary of his daughter’s suicide. That tragedy is what caused him to step away from the movie and, with studio execs more concerned about bonuses than delaying the movie to allow him to properly finish it after grieving, studio heads hired Joss Whedon (then circling a Batgirl movie) to direct additional photography, most of which was to drastically change the tone of the film and to condense it down to a two hour runtime.

Long story short, people eventually found out, campaigned for it, and thanks to a series of circumstances and seventy-something million dollars, the original vision for Justice League is being restored. Snyder kicked off the start of the promotional cycle with a trinity of posters showing the “Knightmare” future that seemingly allude to the destruction of the original film, the campaign to complete it, and the actual completion of the film. The movie, not limited by the traditional theatrical format, is set to run at an intimidating four-plus hours, about four or five minutes of which is new footage that was shot last year. Originally planned to release in four parts and revised into the full running time, the movie is instead going to release all at once. The movie is divided up into seven sections – six chapters and an epilogue – which will allow those who want to watch the movie at their own pace to take their time.

Zack Snyder’s Justice League will release on HBO Max on March 18, 2021. In addition, Snyder claims that he’s making a black-and-white edit of the movie, and he has plans to release the finished movie in IMAX theaters if possible.
