Spider-Man Meets Mysterio in ‘Far From Home’ Clip
Peter Parker may not have the help of the Avengers during the events of Spider-Man: Far From Home, but he’s (seemingly) got an ally in the form of a new super-powered sorcerer from another Earth: Quentin Beck, also known as Mysterio.
The clip was previously shown on The Ellen Show, revealing an extended version of a scene that was shown in the second trailer. Quentin apparently appeared in public at an event prior to Nick Fury summoning Peter to a secret S.H.I.E.L.D. location (as it looks like they’re operating on a small-scale level, still recovering from the takedown that they experienced nearly a decade prior during Captain America: The Winter Soldier). To Peter’s surprise, Quentin reveals that he is from another universe (Earth-833 versus Peter’s Earth-616), a prospect that causes Peter to geek out over the technical details and what this might mean for future scientific discoveries. The clip can be viewed below:
With Mysterio, things are rarely as they seem, but it appears likely that he’s not being dishonest about not being from around here (he’s Far From Home, you might say). Since Marvel seem intent on opening up new storytelling opportunities between the various alternate timelines shown in Avengers: Endgame and the multiverse (shown both in this movie and previously in Doctor Strange), it seems highly likely that the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is going to be very varied, and it won’t cease to surprise audiences as it moves forward.
The film’s synopsis is as follows:
Peter Parker returns in Spider-Man: Far From Home, the next chapter of the Spider-Man: Homecoming series! Our friendly neighborhood Super Hero decides to join his best friends Ned, MJ, and the rest of the gang on a European vacation. However, Peter’s plan to leave super heroics behind for a few weeks are quickly scrapped when he begrudgingly agrees to help Nick Fury uncover the mystery of several elemental creature attacks, creating havoc across the continent!
Spider-Man: Far From Home will be released on July 2, 2019.
