‘Hellboy’ Gets a Bloody Good Red Band Trailer

Hellboy
Lionsgate has released a new red band trailer for the Hellboy reboot.

While the first trailer was heavy on quips, this one is a little more serious to show fans that the writers haven’t simply ‘Marvellised’ Hellboy. That’s not to say the footage shown is devoid of laughs, but David Barbour’s protagonist is definitely presented as a confident badass rather than constantly running his mouth like Spider-Man or Deadpool.

The trailer shows off a wide array of hellish villains and gives a little more context around the film’s villain. It also seems that the huge monster we see walking the streets of London with razor blades for arms is going to be part of the film’s end game. We see the creature knocking down an iconic London landmark, an act that is usually saved for a film’s third act.

On top of that, we also get to see Daniel Dae Kim’s character transform into a were-jaguar, so director Neil Marshall is clearly unafraid to get into the crazier parts of the Hellboy world.

The film’s official premise is as follows:

Based on the graphic novels by Mike Mignola, Hellboy, caught between the worlds of the supernatural and human, battles an ancient sorceress bent on revenge.

Hellboy will be summoned to theaters on April 12, 2019. For more updates, stay tuned to Movie News Net.
