‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Season 6 Starts Production This Week
Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was renewed for another season after teetering on the cancellation bubble, with initial word suggesting that said season would have a 13-episode run and would be ready for a Summer release. However, it’s been confirmed that filming on the series will begin this week, which might suggest that the plan may have changed.
Chole Bennet recently shared a post on her Instagram page that has since been taken down, which featured the following text:
“Last Friday before we shoot Season 6. Daisy Johnson, I’m coming for ya!”
Given that it’s July now and that this is substantially earlier than any point where they would have filmed anything for the show during a regular season, one wonders if they’ll order a greater number of episodes than they had originally planned to or something. It’s likely that Clark Gregg being done with filming for Captain Marvel could have something to do with it, and there’s a slight chance that filming on the new season might possibly have some kind of tie-in with Avengers 4, which will film from now until September 1. Also worth mentioning is that Marvel Television President Jeph Loeb stated that he believes that the lingering plot thread of whether or not Phil Coulson will get to meet the Avengers again will be resolved “in a surprising way”, which could factor into either Avengers 4, this next season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., or both.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 6 will air in 2019.
