‘Kraven the Hunter’: First Teaser Revealed for Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s Origin Villain Story
Sony has revealed the first official look at Kraven the Hunter, their next movie in their shared universe of Spider-Man characters following last year’s Morbius and both Venom movies.
The pic stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson as the titular character, and the trailer describes it as the origin story of the iconic Marvel Comics villain. According to the official synopsis, the film is set before his iconic riff against our favorite web-slinger. Check out the Red Band trailer here:
The first poster has also been revealed:
JC Chandor directs from a screenplay by Art Marcum, Matt Holloway, and Richard Wenk. Besides Taylor-Johnson, the pic also stars Russell Crowe, Fred Hechinger, Alessandro Nivola, and Ariana DeBose as Calypso, a voodoo sorceress with an on-and-off relationship with Kraven.
The film is one of two in post-production from the aforementioned interconnected universe. SJ Clarkson’s Madame Web is currently scheduled for a February 16, 2024, date, while Venom 3 is about to begin production and is likely targeting a November 8, 2024, release. That is one of two dates that Sony Pictures just reserved for their Marvel movies, along with June 27, 2025, which has been speculated to be the release date for the next Tom Holland-led Spider-Man film.
Kraven the Hunter will land in theaters on October 6.
Miguel Fernández is a Spanish student that has movies as his second passion in life. His favorite movie of all time is The Lord of the Rings, but he is also a huge Star Wars fan. However, fantasy movies are not his only cup of tea, as authors like Scorsese, Fincher, Kubrick or Hitchcock have been an obsession for him since he started to understand the language of filmmaking. He is that guy who will watch a black and white movie, just because it is in black and white.
