Zazie Beetz Says She Is Not in ‘Deadpool 3’
Filming is currently underway for Marvel Studios’ Deadpool 3 in London, and while the cast has mostly been set by this point, featuring a large number of returning people from the last movie, there has been one element missing from the equation: Will Zazie Beetz return as Domino?
During the premiere of her upcoming Max series Full Circle at the Tribeca Film Festival, Decider reached out to the actress and asked her point-blank about her involvement in the upcoming film and how Ryan Reynolds is handling the fact that he can’t improvise on the set. She simply responded:
“Well I’m actually not in Deadpool 3, so I don’t know what they’re doing [about improvisation]. I’m assuming they’re probably taking a pause. […] I’m excited to watch it.”
Reynolds’ inability to improvise is a direct consequence of the WGA strike. As Collider revealed late last month when news surfaced about production being underway, this is a legal issue for Reynolds and the entire Deadpool 3 cast, since the writers had it in their contract that the cast must adhere word for word to the script they had delivered before the stoppage was announced. Reynolds brought back Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick to rework the script for the Deadpool threequel, a collaboration that had worked very well for him in the first two installments and that was based on on-set improvisation as much as a preconceived script.
As far as Zazie Beetz and her involvement in the new film, as usual with these NDA-filled projects, it’s a wait-and-see kind of situation, though there may be more truth than usual. Reynolds has not been shy about confirming trade reports on other cast members returning and new additions as well, including director Shawn Levy, Emma Corrin (who is reportedly playing an antagonist role), Matthew Macfadyen, Rob Delaney, and Karan Soni and Leslie Uggams, and of course, the one that started it all — Hugh Jackman’s return as Wolverine. Also unknown at this point is whether or not Josh Brolin will return as Cable, but if Beetz is not back, it’s unlikely Brolin will be.
Deadpool 3, which will be Marvel Studios’ first R-rated theatrical release, is currently set for a November 8, 2024, release.

He is that guy who will watch a black and white movie, just because it is in black and white.
