‘Dune: Part Two’ Announces First Trailer Tomorrow With New Footage and Poster

Dune Part Two

Warner Bros. has released a teaser to the teaser of the upcoming Dune: Part Two, along with its corresponding teaser poster and a tease of what some of the characters will look like in the film. Enough teasing already?

The trailer will debut on May 3 at 9 am PT/12 pm ET, as we learned through a 30-second promo that the studio ran on social media on Tuesday. After including a seconds-long shot of Timothée Chalamet’s Paul Atreides starting a thumper to attract a sandworm on the side of a dune in Arrakis. Shortly after, we are treated to quick shots of our main characters, akin to what the studio did for the debut of the first teaser of the first movie — while we already know some of them, we finally have our first look at Austin Butler as Feyd-Rautha, as well as a new look at Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan.

Here is the first teaser poster:

Dune: Part Two will pick up right where the first one left off. Paul Atreides is now with the Fremen, and finally met with Chani (Zendaya), who is set to be a co-lead character in the second film, which will adapt the second half of Frank Herbert’s iconic novel from 1965. Rebecca Ferguson’s Lady Jessica is also with the group, who is led by Javier Bardem’s Stilgar. Gurney Halleck (Josh Brolin) is also set to return, after he had an unceremonious ending in the last film, where he simply disappeared from the plot after the Harkonnens attacked the Arrakeen Palace.

Florence Pugh joins the cast as Princess Irulan, daughter of the Emperor of the Known Universe (played by Christopher Walken), and a key player in the new story. Our antagonists are the Harkonnens, who are led by Baron Harkonnen (Stellan Skarsgård). His main lieutenant is Glossu Rabban, once again played by Dave Bautista, though there’s a new assassin in town — the ruthless Feyd-Rautha, who couldn’t be more opposite to Glossu Rabban, and who is also an aspirant heir to the Harkonnen House.

Denis Villeneuve is back to direct the continuation, in what has always been his passion project, and is also taking on co-writing duties along with Jon Spaihts.
