‘Only Murders in the Building’ Shows Off Meryl Streep in First Season 3 Teaser

Hulu has revealed on YouTube the first teaser trailer for Only Murders in the Building, which they will be airing during ABC’s telecast of the Oscars ceremony.

As revealed by the cast earlier this year, the third season will bring its biggest guest star yet into the fold: the one and only Meryl Streep. Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gómez are all back in the new footage, which also sees the return of Paul Rudd from the season 2 finale:

The season 2 finale featured an epilogue that took place a year after the main events of the season. It introduced us to Paul Rudd as Charles’ co-star in their theater play, and after a heated argument where Charles tells Paul Rudd’s character to “stay away from her”, the latter dies on stage, setting off the plot of the third season. Current speculation points to Meryl Streep being her.

No release date for Only Murders in the Building has been set, but we expect it to come out later this year.

This is also not the only piece of marketing ABC will be airing during the ceremony. The first TV spot for Destin Daniel Cretton’s upcoming Disney Plus series American Born Chinese was also revealed earlier today, giving us our first look at the reunion between the main three actors from Everything Everywhere All at Once; this is Michelle Yeoh, Ke Huy Quan, and guest star Stephanie Hsu in the upcoming series:

Based on the graphic novel of the same name by Gene Luen Yang, American Born Chinese tells the story of Jin Wang, an average teenager juggling his high school social life with his home life. When he meets a new foreign student on the first day of the school year, even more worlds collide as Jin is unwittingly entangled in a battle of Chinese mythological gods. Destin Daniel Cretton is a director and executive producer on the series, which will premiere on Disney Plus on May 24.

Stay tuned for our full coverage of Oscar night, and keep an eye out for the new trailer for The Little Mermaid, which will also air during the ceremony.
