‘Agatha: Coven of Chaos’ Casts Aubrey Plaza and Joe Locke

Aubrey Plaza and Joe Locke

The WandaVision spin-off series Agatha: Coven of Chaos has cast Aubrey Plaza and Joe Locke in unknown roles.

Not much is known about the plot of the series, so the folks at Variety were unable to provide any further details on the castings when they announced the news for both Plaza and Locke.

That said, it is tempting to assume that Aubrey Plaza will be playing a witch of some kind in the show, considering the actress’ natural penchant for dark humor and her magnetic performance as the Shadow King and the unhinged Lenny in the Legion series from 2017. The actress, who goes by the handle @EvilHag on Twitter, would seem perfect for such a role.

Locke is a relative unknown compared to Plaza, having just had his breakout role in the Netflix series Heartstopper, so it’s difficult to speculate on who he might be playing.

The only other casting news we have is that Kathryn Hahn will obviously return as Agatha Harkness, and that Emma Caulfield Ford will reprise her role as Dotty from WandaVision, suggesting that at least some of this series will take place in present day Westview. It is unclear whether Elizabeth Olsen will reprise her role as Wanda Maximoff.

It makes sense that the casting announcements are beginning to ramp up, given that Kathryn Hahn has revealed that Agatha: Coven of Chaos will begin filming this month ahead of its release on Disney+ in winter next year.

More casting news are surely on the way.
