‘Loki’ Tom Hiddleston on His Arc in Season 1, Has No Idea About ‘Doctor Strange 2’ nor ‘Thor 4’

Loki

As part of the new issue of Total Film magazine, Tom Hiddleston discussed his character’s arc in Loki season 1 and teased what’s to come in season 2. He also said that he doesn’t even know if he’s in any of the upcoming Marvel movies.

Reflecting upon season 1 of the Disney Plus show, Hiddleston admitted that they made some bold choices that made the show feel even more special to him:

“We made some new, bold choices. Loki goes on a really big, internal journey that felt very new and fresh. And I thought, ‘I would like to explore this kind of story, whether it’s Loki or not. But the fact that it’s Loki is even more interesting.'”

He then teased that season 2 could go to even wilder places:

“What can I say? It’s very much continuing to excite and challenge me… At the end of season 1, the story isn’t over. I think that’s really clear. Loki’s almost more unstable, and as turbulent and passionate and chaotic as he’s ever been. And maybe some of that needs resolution. There’s stuff to unpack.”

The end of season 1 could hint that the character will make an appearance in the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, or even, since a version of Loki is still around, Thor: Love and Thunder. But because of how Marvel runs the show, not even Hiddleston himself knows where he’ll be appearing next:

“I’m living in a question mark. It’s all unknown. You know, I used to think that I could predict these things, but I literally have no idea. And I’m not even doing an Andrew Garfield! I just don’t know.”

This could be a hint that the actor has shot some stuff for Marvel outside the Loki series, and he just doesn’t know where that footage will be used. But after Gwyneth Paltrow learned during a Netflix cooking show with Jon Favreau that she was in Spider-Man: Homecoming, all bets are off.

What we know for sure is that we’ll be seeing more of Tom Hiddleston as God of Mischief soon, as season 2 of his Disney Plus series will begin shooting this summer.
