‘Joker’: DC’s Standalone to Feature Adam West’s Batmobile?

Joker
DC’s Joker movie may very well feature an unusual appearance from the Batmobile as it appeared in the 1966 Batman series starring Adam West and Burt Ward. The iconic ride was seen being transported toward the filming site of the Joaquin Phoenix movie.

A fan was able to snag footage of a truck towing a retro Batmobile along in New Jersey, which can be seen below:

It’s interesting that the Batmobile itself doesn’t have the signature luster associated with it, perhaps fitting with the gritty aesthetic associated with the 1980s-set crime drama. Given that Bruce Wayne is apparently a child in the movie, we can rule out an appearance by Batman himself, which only raises further questions about what this car will be doing in this version of the Batman world where Thomas Wayne is seen as a fascist sleazeball. However, it’s not likely to play a major role in the film itself, and should probably just have a cameo somewhere. Whatever happens with the Joker standalone, this certainly points to the movie being wildly original, if nothing else.

Written and directed by Todd Philips, Joker is due for release October 4th 2019. The film’s cast includes Joaquin Phoenix, Robert De Niro, Frances Conroy, Zazie Beetz, Brett Cullen, Marc Maron, Glenn Fleshler, Bryan Callen, Bill Camp, Josh Pais, Shea Whigham, and Douglas Hodge.
