RUMOR: ‘Dark Avengers’ Script Completed By Marvel Studios

Dark Avengers
Marvel Studios seem to have long-term plans for the Marvel Cinematic Universe at any given juncture, and supposedly a Dark Avengers spec script has been finished for a much later point in time. While it’s worth bearing in mind that just because a project is being developed at Marvel Studios doesn’t mean that it will be made, if this report is accurate and the film is indeed coming, then it presents the MCU with a huge potential story arc to utilize after Avengers 4.

That Hashtag Show has revealed that Marvel has developed a script for a Dark Avengers movie. It’s worth noting that multiple Marvel Studios projects are in development at any given time, and that some may never see the light of day while others could take a very long time before they get moving. Black Panther, for instance, started development in 2011 and only arrived a full seven years later. Marvel remain tight-lipped about their projects and, unlike Warner Bros. or Twentieth Century Fox, don’t announce plans for what’s next on their slate until they know that they are committed to making it happen.

If this is indeed a plan that Marvel follows up on, then it seems incredibly likely that Stormin’ Norman Osborn, who was the leader of this team when they were introduced during the Dark Reign story arc, is going to be set up as a long-term villain in the MCU. If so, then one should hope that he makes a surprise cameo in Spider-Man: Far From Home and that he’ll factor into other major movies, and fans may want to be on the lookout for Skrulls, as his defeat of their leader during an attempted invasion of the Earth is what convinced the public that he was a hero. If the Avengers end up losing the public’s trust, then it would be all too easy for someone like Osborn to slip in and kickstart his own plot to take over the world.
