IMAX Listings Suggest ‘Avengers 4’ Could Release in April
A document released by IMAX suggests that Avengers 4, like its predecessor Avengers: Infinity War, is going to be released in April instead of May, and presumably in the last week of that month.
Infinity War originally made the move from the first week of May to the final week of April for a couple of reasons, with the biggest one being so that virtually the entire world would be able to experience the story in the movie’s first weekend. IMAX is indicating that the sequel could very well do that a second time, as a listing of 17 movies features Avengers 4 as being an April movie. (The other movies that will get the full IMAX treatment include Ad Astra, Glass, Dark Phoenix, How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World, Captain Marvel, Shazam!, Godzilla: King of the Monsters, Toy Story 4, Spider-Man: Far From Home, The Lion King, The New Mutants, Artemis Fowl, IT: Chapter 2, Wonder Woman 1984, Frozen 2, and Star Wars Episode IX.)
Given that this is thing was posted long before these movies are locked for a release date without any chance of a delay, there may be something more to this than meets the eye. If this report is not accurate, then Avengers 4 will be released on May 3, 2019 as originally scheduled.
