First Trailer for Fourth Season of ‘Better Call Saul’

Slipping Jimmy returns in the teaser trailer for the upcoming season of Better Call Saul!

Season 3 of Better Call Saul ended on quite a somber note. Though it may not have been a “Who Shot J.R.?” type of cliffhanger, it was enough to keep audiences interested in another season of the Breaking Bad spinoff. Now, fans of the show won’t have to wait much longer to see what happens next, as the trailer for Season 4 is finally here!

As fans can see, Jimmy’s transformation into Saul Goodman is nearing ever so closer. Which makes sense, given how the timeline of the story seems to be inching towards the beginning of Breaking Bad. The teaser even showcases several returning characters from the original show, all of which gets my hyped for the upcoming season.

Though Better Call Saul may not be the sensation that Breaking Bad once was, it continues to draw in good numbers for the network – on top of being a critical success. Despite it’s acclaim, however, it took quite a while for AMC to renew the series for a fourth season in the first place. Though there is no indication that Season 4 will be the final season, creator Vince Gilligan may be reaching an end game since the timeline continues to move closer to Breaking Bad anyway.

The official synopsis for the fourth season of Better Call Saul reads:

Chuck’s death catalyzes Jimmy McGill’s (Odenkirk) transformation into Saul Goodman. In the wake of his loss, Jimmy takes steps into the criminal world that will put his future as a lawyer – and his relationship with Kim (Rhea Seehorn) – in jeopardy. Chuck’s (Michael McKean) death deeply affects former colleagues Howard (Patrick Fabian) and Kim as well, putting the two of them once again on opposite sides of a battle sparked by the Brothers McGill.

Meanwhile, Mike Ehrmantraut takes a more active role as Madrigal Electromotive’s newest (and most thorough) security consultant. It’s a volatile time to be in Gus Fring’s employ, as Hector’s collapse sends shock waves throughout the Albuquerque underworld and throws the cartel into chaos — tearing apart both Gus and Nacho’s well-laid plans. While Gus changes course, Nacho finds himself in the crosshairs of deadly forces.

I may not have gotten my Better Call Saul fix in its usual February time-slot, but the series shall soon return to AMC on August 6.
