‘Priscilla’ Full Trailer Reveals Cailee Spaeny’s Powerful Performance
A24 has revealed the full trailer for the upcoming Sofia Coppola-directed Priscilla, a biopic focused on the other half of Elvis Presley’s marriage and a polar opposite to last year’s Best Picture-nominated film. Cailee Spaeny stars in the title role, with Jacob Elordi as Elvis — we get to see more of him in the new trailer as well.
The film debuted at the Venice Film Festival last month, and will have its North American premiere at the New York Film Festival this weekend. It will roll out in theaters in the US on November 3. Critics have been overwhelmingly positive so far, with 95% of 37 reviews submitted to Rotten Tomatoes being positive, and only 1 out of 17 from top critics being negative. Most of them priase Spaeny’s turn as Priscilla Presley, which could go help the actress go all the way into the Dolby Theater in March.
She faces tough competition in the Best Actress category, though, with Emma Stone (Poor Things) being the clear favorite at this point and stiff competition behind her in Sandra Hüller (Anatomy of a Fall), Lily Gladstone (Killers of the Flower Moon), and Carey Mulligan (Maestro).
