‘The Marvels’ New Trailer Reveals the Cosmic Adventure Coming on November 10

The Marvels

After showing off a new look at the film via a feature piece on Entertainment Weekly, Marvel Studios has released the second official trailer for The Marvels, the upcoming sequel to 2019’s Captain Marvel that will also bring together storylines and characters from WandaVision, Ms. Marvel, and Secret Invasion.

Check it out here:

The trailer gives away a bit more of the story while still editing around some key parts at the beginning to get the point across. Zawe Ashton’s character clearly is in some sort of revenge path and has entangled our heroines’ powers so that every time they use them, they switch places. The entanglement is not enough to make the plotline of the film feel exactly fresh yet (from what we’ve seen, to be fair), but Marvel is obviously trying to sell the movie on the character dynamics between our main trio. And yet, if you’re gonna show that part of the movie off, at least include new beats from it. Most of their interactions were recycled from the last trailer.

The official synopsis for the film reads:

Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel has reclaimed her identity from the tyrannical Kree and taken revenge on the Supreme Intelligence. But unintended consequences see Carol shouldering the burden of a destabilized universe. When her duties send her to an anomalous wormhole linked to a Kree revolutionary, her powers become entangled with that of Jersey City super-fan, Kamala Khan aka Ms. Marvel, and Carol’s estranged niece, now S.A.B.E.R. astronaut Captain Monica Rambeau. Together, this unlikely trio must team-up and learn to work in concert to save the universe as “The Marvels.”

A new poster for the movie has also dropped:

Nia DaCosta directs from a script by her, Megan McDonnell, Elissa Karasik, and Zeb Wells. Brie Larson stars as Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau/Photon, Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel, and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury. Also in the movie are Zawe Ashton, Gary Lewis, Park Seo-joon, Zenobia Shroff, Mohan Kapur, and Saagar Shaikh.

The Marvels debuts in theaters on November 10.
