‘Dune: Part Two’ Drops Full-Length Trailer With Closer Look at Paul Atreides’ Massive Arc and Christopher Walken as the Emperor

Dune Part Two

Timothée Chalamet as Paul Atreides in Warner Bros.’ Dune: Part Two.

Less than two months after getting our first look at the film, Warner Bros. has just revealed the second trailer for Denis Villeneuve’s epic Dune: Part Two.

We must warn you, though, that the three-minute promo contains imagery from the entire film and showcases all the major characters as well as some of the key moments in the second half of the Frank Herbert novel. It’s clear that Warner Bros. and Legendary are not afraid of spoilers for a nearly-60-year-old story that’s already been adapted multiple times (and whose structure has also been replicated innumerable times), but in case you want to go in completely blind, you might want to head back now. If not, you can check out the new trailer here:

While the first trailer was focused on highlighting the vast array of characters, the second trailer seems to focus almost entirely on Paul Atreides’ story, and how it affects its tangential players, from Chani (who is set to play a major role in this film) to Feyd-Rautha and even Emperor Shaddam IV, played by Christopher Walken. There’s also a shot that is highly-reminiscent of Ron Fricke’s Samsara, for those looking for obscure references that may or may not be intentional.

The film acts as the second half of the story initiated in 2021’s Dune, and sees the return of everyone involved with the first film, from the cast to the entire behind-the-scenes crew. Denis Villeneuve is directing, once again, and also co-wrote the scripts with Jon Spaihts; Craig Mazin (The Last of Us) also revealed recently that he worked for a month punching up the script as well, though he will not be receiving co-writing credit. Greig Fraser is back as cinematographer, Jacqueline West is the costume designer, Joe Walker is the editor, Patrice Vermette is the production designer, and Hans Zimmer is also doing the music this time around.

The cast includes Timothée Chalamet as Paul Atreides, Zendaya as Chani, Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan, Rebecca Ferguson as Lady Jessica, Javier Bardem as Stilgar, Josh Brolin as Gurney Halleck, Austin Butler as Feyd-Rautha, Stellan Skarsgård as Baron Harkonnen, Dave Bautista as Glossu Rabban Harkonnen, Christopher Walken as Emperor Shaddam IV, Stephen McKinley Henderson as Thufir Hawat, Léa Seydoux as Lady Margot, Charlotte Rampling as Reverend Mother, and Tim Blake Nelson.

Dune: Part Two opens in theaters on November 3.
