The Cannes market continues to heat up, and Guy Ritchie may have just packaged his next gig. According to Deadline, the Snatch filmmaker will be directing a yet-untitled action film starring Henry Cavill, Eiza González, and Jake Gyllenhaal. Black Bear Internationally started the sale on Friday for what could be one of the biggest films on the market.

Ritchie wrote the script, which according to Deadline, focuses on two extraction specialists who must path an escape for a high-level female negotiator, all of it mixed with the director’s comedic sensibilities. He has already worked with all of these actors, from the recently-released The Covenant, which starred Gyllenhaal, to the upcoming The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, in which Cavill and González have major parts.

Filming would begin this summer in Spain, and would be produced by Ritchie, Ivan Atkinson, and Black Bear International’s John Friedberg. The writer-director confirmed the news to Deadline with the following in a statement:

“There’s something special that happens when you collaborate with the same partners regularly: you build a shorthand and a trust that lets everybody do their best work. Jake, Henry and Eiza are all astonishingly talented, committed, and engaging actors. This is going to be an action-packed movie that is both intellectually stimulating and physically exhilarating.”

The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare has yet to land a release date, but previously this year, Ritchie released two movies back-to-back to underwhelming box office results. Operation Fortune: Ruse de guerre opened in some international markets in January, and then in the US in early March, to a 52% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes; it’s grossed $38M worldwide on a $50M budget. The Covenant opened in the US and a couple of international markets in mid-April, scoring an 83% critic score; it’s made $14M worldwide so far, on a $55M budget.

Henry Cavill will next be seen in The Witcher season 3, which comes to Netflix on June 29, as well as Matthew Vaughn’s Argylle, coming to Apple TV Plus later this year. Jake Gyllenhaal has also a new Apple TV Plus project, the series Presumed Innocent, from David E. Kelly and JJ Abrams, while Eiza González has the massive Three-Body Problem, from Game of Thrones creator David Benioff an D.B. Weiss, scheduled to be released on Netflix at some point in 2023.
