‘Moon Knight’ Season 2 Conversations Are Happening, Says Oscar Isaac

Moon Knight

Ever since the six-episode season of Moon Knight finished its run earlier this year and left us with a big tease in the form of a post-credits scene that introduced a third personality inside Steven Grant, many have been asking whether or not the character will return for another season of his own show.

Lead actor Oscar Isaac said at the time that he had only signed a one-season contract, though he’s been publicly open about being interested in returning to the role. Most recently, the actor gave a small update on the status of the second season. Speaking to ComicBook.com, Isaac said the following:

“There have been some specific conversations. They were pleasant. The spilling of the details is that there’s no details. We don’t know [if there will be a second season], but we’re talking about it.”

When asked if he would prefer another season or a larger team-up movie a la Midnight Sons, the actor said:

“Truthfully, it’s about the story. Is there a story worth telling? Is it interesting? Will I feel embarrassed about it when it comes out? So it’s just about, is there something worth pouring everything you have into? And with Moon Knight, that was very much about that. It’s creating a structure so that every morning when the alarm went off, I couldn’t wait to get to the set because I wanted to try something different.

Whether that’s in a group thing, or maybe a great idea comes around for a season two, or if it’s a standalone film or whatever it could be… I think it’s just approaching it in that kind of way. It’s the story first.”

Moon Knight managed to pull eight Emmy nominations earlier this year, and won in the category of Outstanding Sound Editing for a Limited or Anthology Series, Movie or Special. Unfortunately, it didn’t land a Best Actor nomination for Oscar Isaac, which Marvel Studios was really pushing for.

With She-Hulk now wrapped, and Werewolf by Night having aired already, Marvel’s Disney Plus content over the next few months will be restricted to this December’s The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special and next spring’s Secret Invasion.
