‘Oppenheimer’ Releases First Teaser Poster One Year in Advance, Teaser Trailer Coming Soon

Oppenheimer

Universal Pictures has released the first teaser poster for the new Christopher Nolan movie, Oppenheimer, exactly one year before the movie is scheduled to come out in theaters.

Check it out below:

There’s also word that the first teaser trailer has been rated and will play in front of Jordan Peele’s Nope, the new Universal movie that will be released tomorrow. It’s unknown at this point if it will also debut online or not — Nolan is known for boosting the theatrical experience, and it wouldn’t be the first time he debuts new footage exclusively for theaters, but at the same time, Nope is opening overseas a few weeks from now, and maybe the filmmaker, who probably has final say on the marketing, doesn’t want the first look at Oppenheimer to leak online for those who can’t go see it in a theater.

Oppenheimer was written and directed by Christopher Nolan. While an official synopsis is yet to be released, the movie will follow Cillian Murphy as Robert J. Oppenheimer, leader of the Manhattan Project, which in the 1940s was tasked with and succeeded at developing the first atomic bomb. His wife will be played by Emily Blunt, and the (insane) cast also includes Florence Pugh, Benny Safdie, Rami Malek, Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr., Dane DeHaan, Jack Quaid, Matthew Modine, Alden Ehrenreich, David Krumholtz, Jason Clarke, and David Dastmalchian.

It will be released in theaters July 21, 2023, the same day as Greta Gerwig’s Barbie, starring Margot Robbie. In other fun news, this week also marked the 14-year anniversary of the release of The Dark Knight.
