‘She Said’ Trailer Goes Deep Behind the Harvey Weinstein Investigation

She Said

Universal has released the first trailer for the new movie She Said, which brings to the big screen the Pulitzer Prize-winning investigation from The New York Times that brought down Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein in 2017.

Check out the trailer for the film, which stars Carey Mulligan and Zoe Kazan star as reporters Megan Twohey and Jodi Kantor:

From Universal:

“Two-time Academy Award nominee Carey Mulligan (‘Promising Young Woman’, ‘An Education’) and Zoe Kazan (‘The Plot Against America’ limited series, ‘The Big Sick’) star as New York Times reporters Megan Twohey and Jodi Kantor, who together broke one of the most important stories in a generation— a story that helped launch the #Metoo movement, shattered decades of silence around the subject of sexual assault in Hollywood and altered American culture forever.”

A poster for the movie has also been released:

She Said was directed by Emmy winner Maria Schrader (Unorthodox) and written by Oscar winner Rebecca Lenkiewicz (Ida). It was produced by Brad Pitt via his Plan B banner, and executive produced by Megan Ellison and Sue Naegle for Annapurna Pictures. It is based on Twohey and Kantor’s book She Said: Breaking the Sexual Harassment Story That Helped Ignite a Movement, published in 2019.

The movie will be released in theaters on November 18, and has definitely the potential to be this year’s Spotlight. A Best Picture nomination is pretty much guaranteed at the Oscars, and we should probably look out for acting, writing, and directing nominations as well. This will be a very competitive year, with some of Hollywood’s biggest names releasing new movies, including Steven Spielberg (The Fabelmans), Martin Scorsese (Killers of the Flower Moon), David Fincher (The Killer), Rian Johnson (Glass Onion: A Knives Out Story), Damien Chazelle (Babylon), James Cameron (Avatar: The Way of Water), David O. Russell (Amsterdam), Alejandro G. Iñárritu (Bardo), Yorgos Lanthimos (Poor Things), Noah Baumbach (White Noise), among many, many others. Stay tuned, it’s gonna be an interesting race!
