‘The Secret Life of Pets 2’ Invades CinemaCon with Live Animals
The stars aren’t the only ones invading CinemaCon as Kevin Hart and Tiffany Haddish brought some furry friends to Universal Pictures’ The Secret Life of Pets 2 panel earlier today.
Hart, who voices the white rabbit Snowball, came out carrying a bunny, whilst Haddish, who voices Shih Tzu Daisy, was accompanied on stage by Shih Tzu. “I don’t know who’s dog this is,” she told the audience to cries of laughter “the dog was drunk and broke (wandering around the casino).”
Whilst Haddish’s Shih Tzu remained relatively well behaved for the duration of the presentation, Deadline reports that Hart wasn’t so lucky. First his bunny attempted to escape by climbing up and over his shoulder, and when that failed the claws came out. “This is my worst nightmare,” Hart told the crowd, “Oh sh*t. You got a drunk dog, I got a frisky rabbit … My chest is bleeding now.”
Still, the impromptu antics gave Hart the opportunity to get into character, telling the audience “The good news, pellets coming out of my ass. We’re completely on scrip” in Snowball’s voice.
After playing a new teaser, showing the return of all the original characters, Illumination head Christopher Meledandri took to the stage. Meledandri told the audience that Haddish’s Daisy is a new character, a fearless Shih Tzu who shows up to teach Snowball that he’s no longer the most adorable creature on the block, and that The Secret Life of Pets 2 will show the “universal love we have for our pets and the unconditional love they have for us.”
The new footage has not yet been released, but you can enjoy the previous Snowball and Daisy teasers below. I really hope they release the video of Hart being upstaged by a rabbit!
