‘Aquaman’ Final Trailer Shows Plenty of New Footage

Aquaman
Aquaman gets an epic final trailer ahead of its arrival late next month, and suffice to say, this trailer blows everything that’s come before out of the water. A mix of superhero origin, old-fashioned adventure, and underwater battle sequences follow.

The trailer for the Jason Momoa superhero movie gives us an in-depth look at Atlantis and reveals some of the characters we haven’t really taken a closer look at, such as Willem Dafoe’s Nuidis Vulko and Dolph Lundgren’s King Nereus. We also get to see Amber Heard’s character, Mera, use her water-controlling powers. But the real standout sequence here is the war sequence in Atlantis, which looks like it will make the price of admission to see this movie on the biggest screen possible absolutely worth it. Take a plunge into the depths of the ocean with the trailer below:

Cool, huh? I hope it’s not still considered “too nerdy” to say that I’m incredibly hyped for an Aquaman movie, as it looks like this is going to wash the stigma associated with the goofy Super Friends version of the character away for good!

My only complaint about this trailer is that it didn’t arrive a week earlier so that WB could attach it to Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, their biggest release last weekend. (Granted, they did have the initial trailer, but it pales in comparison to this one.) However, there should be ample opportunities to attach it to plenty of movies that will hit cinemas before Aquaman does, including WB’s own Creed II, Disney’s Ralph Breaks the Internet, Fox’s Once Upon a Deadpool, Universal’s Mortal Engines, Sony’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, and Disney’s Mary Poppins Returns. December is going to be absolutely huge for the box office, and I, for one, can’t wait!

Aquaman swims into theaters December 21st.
