‘Hellboy’ Poster Reveals David Harbour Raising Hell
Lionsgate unveil the red-hot first poster for their Hellboy reboot hitting early next year, contrasting the demonic superhero’s imposing presence with a goofy tagline. From the looks of things, it seems like Mike Mignola’s most famous creation is going to get one heck of a movie.
Entertainment Weekly has exclusively dropped the poster on their website, showing Stranger Things actor David Harbour letting Anung Un Rama’s inner demons loose:
The use of the fully-grown horns in this image are of interest, considering that the initial tease for this film featured a two behind-the-scenes photos with Harbour rocking the cut horns, the standard look for the character. EW is suggesting that this has to do with a part of the plot itself, where Hellboy has to tap into the dark nature of his powers as a demon intended to set the end of the world in motion to defeat a particularly powerful sorceress known as the Blood Queen.
Mignola was involved with re-adapting his signature superhero to the big screen, and apparently the story is a faithful recreation of one of the arcs in the comics. I could still go without that silly tagline, though. We’ll find out more about the movie this weekend at the New York Comic Con.
Hellboy will hit theaters on April 12, 2019.
