Jeremy Renner Preparing for ‘Avengers 4’ Reshoots
Jeremy Renner reveals that he is suiting up as Hawkeye (or rather, Hawkeye in his Ronin persona) for Avengers 4 once again, as the movie’s planned reshoots proceed. The character is expected to have a large part in Avengers 4 after not appearing at all in Avengers: Infinity War.
Renner shared the following message on his Instagram, showing a still of Captain America: Civil War (the character’s most recent canonical appearance) and noting that he’s back in the saddle with the reshoots currently filming:
So far, all we have to go on with Hawkeye’s role in Avengers 4 is this image, which features him as part of the team’s lineup:
It’s been speculated that the reason that Hawkeye adopts the Ronin identity (which we have yet to fully see, as he’s not wearing the mask just yet) is that his family were felled by the snap felt across the universe, leading him to come out of his forced retirement to fight as a vigilante before reuniting with Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and their motley crew of allies. Suffice to say, he’d have plenty of reasons to want to take the fight to Thanos if the Mad Titan caused their deaths.
Avengers 4 will be released on May 3, 2019.
