Adam Scott Packages Directorial Debut With Sterling K Brown, Zazie Beetz, and Alexandra Daddario
Cannes is just around the corner, and Hollywood is busy preparing their packages to try to sell them at the Croisette. An interesting one leaked to the press earlier this week, as Deadline reported that Adam Scott will star in his directorial debut, which has also set a starry cast that includes Sterling K Brown, Zazie Beetz, and Alexandra Daddario.
The pic, titled Double Booked, will be selling its international rights in Cannes brokered by Protagonist Pictures, while UTA Independent Film Group and CAA will handle North American rights. Here is Deadline‘s description of the plot:
“Double Booked follows a successful self-help writer (Scott) and his heavily pregnant wife (Beetz) who organize a weekend away at a secluded lodge, only to encounter another couple (Brown and Daddario) at their cabin when they arrive. With a blizzard moving in they are forced to spend the night together, and what seems like an innocent system error turns into a chilling battle of deceit with deadly consequences.”
David Levinson wrote the script. Adam Goodman and Matt Skiena produce via Dichotomy Creative Group, along with Adam and Naomi Scott for Great Scott Productions. Scott said in a statement:
“I couldn’t be more excited to be working with Protagonist and Dichotomy to bring this audacious, crowd-pleasing, white knuckle thriller to the screen. I’d been looking for something to direct for years, and Double Booked checked all the boxes. Along with our unbelievable cast, I can’t wait to make it and share it with the world.”
Adam Scott recently wrapped filming the second season of Apple’s Severance, and was recently seen in Sony’s Madame Web. A production schedule was not reported, though it could probably film in the fall if the chips fall in the right places.
Miguel Fernández is a Spanish student that has movies as his second passion in life. His favorite movie of all time is The Lord of the Rings, but he is also a huge Star Wars fan. However, fantasy movies are not his only cup of tea, as authors like Scorsese, Fincher, Kubrick or Hitchcock have been an obsession for him since he started to understand the language of filmmaking. He is that guy who will watch a black and white movie, just because it is in black and white.
