Here’s the official synopsis for Babylon straight from the studio:
“From Damien Chazelle, Babylon is an original epic set in 1920s Los Angeles led by Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie and Diego Calva, with an ensemble cast including Jovan Adepo, Li Jun Li and Jean Smart. A tale of outsized ambition and outrageous excess, it traces the rise and fall of multiple characters during an era of unbridled decadence and depravity in early Hollywood.”
The movie is already an early Oscar contender, with nominations for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Costume Design, Best Score, Best Production Design, and Best Sound pretty much guaranteed.
Babylon will be released in a select number of theaters in the U.S. on December 25 before expanding wide on January 6, 2023. The trailer already features a piece of original music from the movie, composed by Justin Hurwitz.
Miguel Fernández is a Spanish student that has movies as his second passion in life. His favorite movie of all time is The Lord of the Rings, but he is also a huge Star Wars fan. However, fantasy movies are not his only cup of tea, as authors like Scorsese, Fincher, Kubrick or Hitchcock have been an obsession for him since he started to understand the language of filmmaking. He is that guy who will watch a black and white movie, just because it is in black and white.
