Second ‘Peacemaker’ Trailer Brings James Gunn’s Shenanigans to HBO Max
Peacemaker is a little over a month away from hitting HBO Max, and today the streamer finally released the main trailer for the series.
Check it out below:
The new preview continues to build on the promise of an absolutely wild series, led by a very charismatic and all-around weird Christopher Smith (Peacemaker). However, clocking in at 3:19, it is a bit too long and perhaps shows a bit too much about the plot. During the series’ DC FanDome panel, one of the executive producers also confirmed that James Gunn, who wrote all eight episodes, directed five of them, though he didn’t reveal which ones or who is directing the rest.
John Cena will be reprising his role as Peacemaker from The Suicide Squad and serves as executive producer on the series. He will be joined by Chris Conrad and Danielle Brooks, who play anti-hero Vigilante and a brand-new character called Leota Adebayo, respectively. Jennifer Holland, who starred in James Gunn’s Brightburn, and Steve Agee will also reprise their characters Emilia Harcourt and John Economos respectively from The Suicide Squad. Robert Patrick will play another character named Auggie Smith — Christopher’s father.
Peacemaker will debut on HBO Max on January 13, 2022.
Miguel Fernández is a Spanish student that has movies as his second passion in life. His favorite movie of all time is The Lord of the Rings, but he is also a huge Star Wars fan. However, fantasy movies are not his only cup of tea, as authors like Scorsese, Fincher, Kubrick or Hitchcock have been an obsession for him since he started to understand the language of filmmaking. He is that guy who will watch a black and white movie, just because it is in black and white.
