The baby shown here is suggested to be the Anti-Christ (specifically, a child between a human mother and and a father that took the form of a malicious spirit), who was born at the end of the first season of the show under the name Michael Langdon, whereas the hand approaching him represents witchcraft, something that played prominently in the third season.
Returning cast members that will be making appearances include Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Kathy Bates, Billie Lourd, Billy Eichner, Leslie Grossman, Adina Porter, Cheyenne Jackson, with no specific word on if the characters they will be portraying are new or if they will be reprisals of earlier roles. Joan Collins joins the cast as a new character, per Entertainment Weekly. Series creator Ryan Murphy has confirmed that multiple fan-favorite characters will be reappearing and that the season will feature a ton of major story developments for the show’s shared universe.
American Horror Story: Apocalypse will begin airing on September 12, 2018 on FX.
