‘Lightyear’: First Trailer Released for Pixar’s New Adventure
Pixar released today the first trailer for Lightyear, the new addition to the Toy Story franchise… sort of.
The movie was announced back in December during Disney’s Investor Day 2020, and it was described as the in-universe movie that inspired the toy that appeared in all four Toy Story movies. Check the new trailer out:
Lightyear will focus on Buzz Lightyear’s journey through Star Command, not unlike the Buzz Lightyear of Star Command cartoon series that aired briefly between August 2000 and January 2001. This film will give us a greater look at the kind of character that spawned legions of Buzz Lightyear toys in the Toy Story universe. For the first time, the character will not be voiced by traditional Buzz voice actor Tim Allen; instead, he will be voiced by Chris Evans. No other actors have been announced yet.
Angus MacLane directs the movie. He’s been in the Pixar family for several decades, and co-directed Finding Dory back in 2016. Lightyear is scheduled to hit theaters on June 17, 2022. Pixar’s next movie, though, will be Turning Red, coming out in March.
Miguel Fernández is a Spanish student that has movies as his second passion in life. His favorite movie of all time is The Lord of the Rings, but he is also a huge Star Wars fan. However, fantasy movies are not his only cup of tea, as authors like Scorsese, Fincher, Kubrick or Hitchcock have been an obsession for him since he started to understand the language of filmmaking. He is that guy who will watch a black and white movie, just because it is in black and white.
