Black Adam himself, Dwayne Johnson, made a “thunderous entrance” at Warner Bros.’s Hall H panel, where he also introduced a new spot for the movie.

Johnson apparently floated into Hall H in costume. Director Jaume Collet-Serra confirmed during the panel that they have now locked picture, and they showed the final product to the cast just last night. Noah Centineo, Aldis Hodge, and Quintessa Swindell also popped up during the panel to discuss the film. During the panel, it was also confirmed that Viola Davis would return as Amanda Waller in the film.

Per Variety, The Rock said during the panel:

“The dream when I first started in this business, you would come here and think, I hope people like it… to watch Black Adam levitate and throw lighting like he was passing out candy, it was a dream come true.”

When asked who would win in a fight between Black Adam and Superman, he said:

“Pound for pound they’re pretty close… it all depends on who is playing Superman.”

Thousands of years ago, Teth-Adam was a slave living in the forgotten nation Kahndaq, empowered by the Council of Wizards to free his people from a tyrannical reign. Becoming Black Adam, the man liberated the city from the control of the slavers, but it was quickly learned that his brand of justice was extreme as he planned world conquest using his new abilities. The Council of Wizards fought against their new champion, and many of them died, but they were able to seal Black Adam away for millennia. In the present day, Black Adam has been freed from his prison, and he now sets his sights toward adjusting his vision for a modern world. Now, fighting alongside — and against — a group of superheroes known as the Justice Society, Black Adam has a chance to take the throne of Kahndaq once more, by any means necessary.

Black Adam will be released on October 21, 2022. The film stars Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as Teth-Adam / Black Adam, Pierce Brosnan as Kent Nelson / Doctor Fate, Noah Centineo as Albert Rothstein / Atom-Smasher, Aldis Hodge as Carter Hall / Katar Hol / Hawkman, Quintessa Swindell as Maxine Hunkel / Cyclone, and Sarah Shahi as Adrianna Tomaz, along with Marwan Kenzari, James Cusati-Moyer, Bodhi Sabongui, Mo Amer, and Uli Latukefu in unspecified roles. Jaume Collet-Sierra (Jungle Cruise, The Shallows) is directing from a script by Adam Sztykiel, Rory Haines, and Sohrab Noshirvan.
