‘The Marvels’ and ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’ Swap Release Dates
Two upcoming movies from Marvel Studios have swapped their release dates: The Marvels has moved to July 28, 2023, while Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will now bow on February 17, 2023.
According to Variety, this is simply because Quantumania is more in shape to hit the February release date than The Marvels, since the former wrapped production a while ago, while the Brie Larson sequel is still rolling cameras. It should be noted that this is not because the movie is in trouble, but probably because, due to the pandemic, the shooting schedule for The Marvels was affected.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania goes back to its original release date of February 17, 2023. This is only natural, as the production schedule for the movie was maintained despite its original delay from February to July. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is keeping its always-planned May 5, 2023, date. That movie will also wrap production in the next week.
Interestingly enough, both of these movies will feature Sam Jackson’s Nick Fury, something the actor revealed in a recent podcast. The Marvels will be a team-up between Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel (who is getting her own introductory Disney Plus series in June 2022), and Monica Rambeau, played by Teyonah Parris, who was introduced in WandaVision as the adult version of the character that appeared in 2019’s Captain Marvel.
In fact, a new look at Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan, a.k.a. Ms. Marvel, was recently released by Total Film. Check it out below:
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will feature all four main characters from 2018’s sequel, as well as Kang the Conqueror, played by Loki‘s Jonathan Majors. Peyton Reed is back in the director’s chair for the new movie, which will probably be the most ambitious Ant-Man movie yet. Not many details are known at this point about it.
Stay tuned for more news on all Marvel movies and shows. The next one in line is Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which comes out next week.
Miguel Fernández is a Spanish student that has movies as his second passion in life. His favorite movie of all time is The Lord of the Rings, but he is also a huge Star Wars fan. However, fantasy movies are not his only cup of tea, as authors like Scorsese, Fincher, Kubrick or Hitchcock have been an obsession for him since he started to understand the language of filmmaking. He is that guy who will watch a black and white movie, just because it is in black and white.
