This limited series is produced by the world-renowned team at BBC Studios’ Natural History Unit, with support from the photorealistic visual effects of MPC (The Lion King, The Jungle Book). Prehistoric Planet presents little-known and surprising facts of dinosaur life set against the backdrop of the environments of Cretaceous times, including coasts, deserts, freshwater, ice worlds, and forests. From revealing the eye-opening parenting techniques of the Tyrannosaurus Rex to exploring the mysterious depths of the oceans and the deadly dangers in the sky, Prehistoric Planet brings Earth’s distant history to life like never before.

BBC Studios produced the project, with Apple TV Plus distributing it around the world. The tech company, now turned streaming service, is going all-in on quality content. Dropping new programming every week, they are poised to become one of the major players in the streaming wars. After debuting a star-studded dark comedy anthology series in Roar, they are about to debut a new documentary series focused on Magic Johnson called They Call Me Magic, from director Rick Famuyiwa. Coming up, they also have a new show starring Elizabeth Moss titled Shining Girls, and of course a new season of For All Mankind dropping in June.
