‘Stranger Things 4’ Will Release in Two Parts, ‘Stranger Things 5’ Confirmed to be Final Season

Stranger Things

The wait is almost over: Stranger Things 4 is almost here, split into two parts that will release during the Summer. Furthermore, the show has been renewed for a fifth and final season.

Variety officially confirmed that Stranger Things 4 is going to take a different approach than previous seasons: instead of dropping the entire season all at once, the show will be arriving in two parts: one on May 27, 2022, and the other on July 1, 2022. The Duffer Brothers issued the following statement confirming that the long-gestating return for the series is among their most ambitious work with the franchise so far.

“With nine scripts, over 800 pages, almost two years of filming, thousands of visual effects shots, and a runtime nearly twice the length of any previous season, Stranger Things 4 was the most challenging season yet, but also the most rewarding one. Everyone involved is incredibly proud of the results, and we can’t wait to share it with you.”

A synopsis for the season has also been revealed:

“It’s been six months since the Battle of Starcourt, which brought terror and destruction to Hawkins. Struggling with the aftermath, our group of friends are separated for the first time, and navigating the complexities of high school hasn’t made things any easier. In this most vulnerable time, a new and horrifying supernatural threat surfaces, presenting a gruesome mystery that, if solved, might finally put an end to the horrors of the Upside Down.”

Variety also broke the news that Stranger Things 5 is a go, and it will mark the end of the adventures of the Hawkins kids.

Furthermore, the official account for the series has revealed four new posters showing four separate locations and the casts that will visit them. Check them out below:
