Jason Momoa Boards ‘Fast & Furious 10’

Jason Momoa has joined the Fast fam and will team up with or clash against Vin Diesel.

The Hollywood Reporter dropped the exclusive shortly before the official Fast Saga account made it official on Twitter:

The news might be surprising at first, but Momoa is a perfect fit for the long-running action franchise, which is short on muscle after Dwayne Johnson 100% dropped out of the tenth installment one month ago, saying there was “no chance” of him rejoining Toretto and the others. If anything, a Hobbs & Shaw sequel could happen later down the line, as he pretty much made that his own subfranchise. Speaking of that spinoff, several sources claim Momoa was once in the running to play one of Hobbs’ brothers, likely in the role that ultimately went to Cliff Curtis.

Right now, it’s unclear how many characters/actors from past films will return for Fast & Furious 10, but it’s not unreasonable to expect most of the Fast fam from the ninth installment to return in some capacity, plus Charlize Theron’s Cipher and John Cena’s Jakob Toretto. Rumors are saying Jason Momoa will play one of the film’s new villains, but this is far from confirmed, plus we all know how much this franchise likes to toy with allegiances in the long run.

Fan-favorite director Justin Lin, who returned to the saga with F9, is locked to guide the culmination of the Fast & Furious saga, which will happen with two films likely scripted to be a two-parter. The first of these last two Diesel-led entries is currently set to crash into theaters on May 19, 2023, and will start shooting this spring.
