‘Shazam! Fury of the Gods’ Brings Behind the Scenes Preview to DC FanDome
Get ready to say the word once more as Zachary Levi and the cast of Shazam! Fury of the Gods brought a special BTS look at the upcoming sequel to this year’s DC FanDome.
The movie may not be hitting cinemas until summer 2023, but filming has wrapped, which means DC were able to offer fans a little BTS preview of what Shazam! Fury of the Gods has in store. Zachary Levi and Asher Angel return as Billy Batson/Shazam alongside the rest of the Shazam family, and this time they will be facing the daughters of Atlas – Hespera (Helen Mirren), Kalypso (Lucy Liu), and a third daughter portrayed by Rachel Zegler.
Before this year’s DC FanDome, very little was known about the Shazam! sequel, beyond the title and a guest appearance by comedian Sinbad that were revealed during the first FanDome event. And with the film still almost two years away, this is likely the only look we’ll get for a while at David Sandberg’s superhero sequel.
Arguably the biggest mystery remains whether we’ll see any follow-up to the first film’s post-credits scene, which teased a team up between Doctor Sivana and Mister Mind. Both Dwayne Johnson and Zachary Levi have confirmed that a showdown between Shazam and Black Adam is the long term goal for both franchises, but with the second film focusing on the daughters of Atlas, the future of the teased villain team-up remains unknown.
