Kathryn Hahn and Janelle Monáe Board ‘Knives Out 2’

Kathryn Hahn joins Knives Out 2

Another day, another combo of additions to the Knives Out 2 roster.

Yes, it appears that every hot name in Hollywood right now wants to work with Rian Johnson. Following the arrival of Dave Bautista and Edward Norton at the scene, Kathryn Hahn (WandaVision) and Janelle Monáe (Antebellum) are on the way to Greece too.

Plot details are being kept under wraps, but expect Hahn to bring all of her range to Johnson’s second whodunit. She has been busy over the past year showcasing her skills in an acclaimed role in the HBO limited series I Know This Much Is True opposite Mark Ruffalo. Later, she followed that up with Marvel Studios’ WandaVision, playing Agatha Harkness, a role which surprised everyone and quickly gained a cult following. Rumors claim she might pop up in next year’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness as well, but we’ll have to wait and see. However, we do know for sure that she also joined the highly anticipated Apple series The Shrink Next Door, starring Will Ferrell and Paul Rudd.

An eight-time Grammy nominee, Monáe burst onto the Hollywood scene with breakthrough performances in 2016’s Hidden Figures and the best picture Oscar winner Moonlight. Since then, the entertainer has starred in film and television projects including Harriet opposite Cynthia Erivo, Welcome to Marwen, The Glorias, the lead role in the second season of Amazon’s Homecoming, and last year’s Antebellum. In addition to her work onscreen, Monáe is also the CEO of the Wondaland arts society multimedia company, which includes the Wondaland Pictures production banner and Wondaland Records label. Now that’s productivity.

Johnson will return to direct after writing the script for two Knives Out sequels after a massive deal with Netflix, and is also producing with longtime collaborator and friend Ram Bergman under their T-Street banner. The movie is set to start shooting this summer in Greece.
