Genndy Tartakovsky’s Glorious ‘Primal’ Returns this Fall with Five New Episodes
The goriest prehistoric adventure you have ever seen will be back next month.
Genndy Tartakovsky, the visionary artist behind Samurai Jack and many other well-loved animated series, is gifting us another set of Primal episodes. Spear and Fang will continue their adventures on October 4.
This new batch of episodes is being described as the second half of the show’s first season, but it’s unclear if April Fool’s special episode, “Plague of Madness,” counts as part of it.
Primal tells the story of a caveman who befriends a dinosaur after both of them lose their families to natural predators. It’s a wordless story of friendship, revenge, fear, and moving forward in a world in the brink of extinction. Everyone should watch it. Well, everyone who isn’t put off by animated gore. This show is as bloody as it gets, which offers contrast with its (incredibly) soft heart.
The series airs on Adult Swim, but it can also be found in streaming services such as HBO or Prime Video depending on where you live.
